NJ2KC WINS FIRST PLACE!
CQ Magazine, The Radio Amateur’s Journal, has awarded our Club Station NJ2KC FIRST PLACE for the 2026 World Wide WPX (Worked All Prefixes) Contest in the United States 2nd Call Area SSB Multi-Operator Distributed Category. President Tom N2JIE, Treasurer Joe NJ9L, and Club Members Dom KD2EPM and Jim W2UM participated in this outstanding event which draws thousands of entries from around the world. Their total score was an impressive 199,665 points which was computed on the basis of the number of stations worked and call sign prefixes contacted. This score also ranked #3 in the entire United States and #4 in all of North America! Congratulations to the Club participants on this fine achievement! Their dedication and commitment to the Club and to the Amateur Radio Hobby are highly commendable! We look forward to and welcome additional Club members to join us in next year’s World Wide WPX contest on the last full weekend of March! 73!
Silent Key (SK) JOHN MARRIN, W2RN
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our Club Trustee John Marrin, W2RN, a founding member of our Club and a proud United States Navy Veteran who was a devout Catholic, outstanding family man, and active in so many organizations, especially as a Past Grand Knight of the Montclair Knights of Columbus Council 1277, the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 649, and as a Treasurer, Trustee, and Past Chapter Chairman of New Jersey Chapter 1 Knights of Columbus.
John’s key may have gone silent, but he will never be forgotten. (Link to Obituary and Condolences)
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
